I had to share this Scary Mommy post today.
Imma dedicate this one to the neighbor who gave me the stinkeye when I hollered at the dog "just GO TO THE BATHROOM ALREADY!" on our walk last night.
You didn't see the hours of tears all day from the baby no matter what I did.
The World War Three that ensued when I tried to get her to nap.
The screeches that killed my already painful ear as I bundled her into her snowsuit, strapped her into the front carrier, and made my way outside into the 20-degree weather-plus-windchill.
You don't realize that I don't always have help.
That I'm stressed about starting work on Sunday and leaving my child with a sitter.
That I haven't eaten since breakfast and probably won't get food until I put the baby to bed for the night.
That she's been sick since Thursday.
Don't judge. What you're seeing now isn't the whole story. This one snapshot doesn't show you the cuddles and playtime that pup has inside the house. That I've put up with her naughty behavior and her sweet protectiveness over the baby, her barks during naptime and her kisses at bedtime.
My actions in that moment may not be ideal, but it's the best I can muster.
Lindsay
Lindsay Sweeting was in the world of Marketing and Publicity in her previous life. These days you're more likely to see her running after her toddler than running a meeting, but she does her best to find time to create new recipes, come up with fun activities for her daughter, and write about the craziness that is life in the Sweeting house.
About Me
I'm a {former} copywriter, social media marketer and literary publicist. Now, I spend my days doing what I've always wanted: running around with my daughter in Sarasota, FL. I still love to write, but instead of penning copy about companies and getting publications to write about an author, I'm sharing my struggles, successes, learnings and everyday life with you. Thanks for joining!
