Oh, Baby.

I didn't think I'd take this long in between posts, but, hey, I also didn't have any idea what parenthood would be like. SO!

On June 21st at 9:20 in the morning Tyler Elizabeth Sweeting graced us with her presence. Delivery was unreal. Despite 9 months of preparation, feeling that sweet girl do somersaults and karate chops for months on end, it wasn't until I started pushing that things became 100% real for me. In that moment I knew that I'd be holding her within the hour, and after nine months of waiting, I was so ready...which is why it only took 20 minutes of pushing before she joined the world. Best 20 minute workout of my life.

The last two months have been filled with firsts. And seconds. And thirds. Each new experience is so much fun, so exciting. As she begins to be more and more aware of the world around her, I get to see her realize that something is new and different, get to see her look of wonder as she realizes that she can reach out and grab my face, that the dog is licking HER hand, that squealing will always get me to respond to her. It's an incredible experience, being the mother of this girl.

We've been blessed with a pretty quiet girl who is an excellent sleeper. I don't know how we got so lucky, but we're convinced that the second baby will be an unholy terror as a result. Perhaps we'll get lucky twice.

I only have a few minutes before her nap ends, so I'm not going to write too much more, just share a few photos of the sweetest girl in the world.

Lindsay Sweeting was in the world of Marketing and Publicity in her previous life. These days you're more likely to see her running after her toddler than running a meeting, but she does her best to find time to create new recipes, come up with fun activities for her daughter, and write about the craziness that is life in the Sweeting house.
